On behalf of Jasti & Khandhar   |   Firm News

Governor Evers’ “Badger Bounceback agenda” introduces the proposition to legalize marijuana in Wisconsin. Evers feels as if we should join other states in their move to legalize marijuana’s recreational use.

According to Evers’ official website, his “2021-23 budget proposes legalizing and taxing marijuana, much like we already do with alcohol.”

It is projected that the legalization of marijuana would generate upwards of $165 million for our state.

Governor Evers additionally hopes to make changes to criminal penalties that result from marijuana related crimes in Wisconsin.

Additionally, the agenda proposes the infusion of $10 million into efforts to overhaul the “outdated” juvenile justice system.
